The Head Chef will ensure the proper production techniques are followed to produce high-quality food service and finished products to One Fine Food’s standard in all kitchen departments. The Chef will be responsible for all day-to-day kitchen operations and will be reporting directly to the Executive Chef. It is expected that the Head Chef will conduct duties in a professional and business-like manner and encourage excellence from all employees, always striving to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
Oversee the whole kitchen department and collaborate with the general manager.
Self-motivated, punctual, and reliable.
Other related duties as assigned by Executive Chef.
Responsible for the preparation of all menu items and daily specials
Ensure smooth running of the kitchen operations and maintain appropriate staffing levels
Train and maintain a skilled kitchen staff
Instruct new staff in proper food preparation, food storage, use of kitchen equipment and utensils, sanitation, and safety procedures
Ensure proper stocking and quality of food items and fills all necessary paperwork as needed
Control inventory and proper food costing (i.e Waste)
In charge of ordering products as needed
Red Seal Certified or Equivalent
Food Handlers Certification
High School Diploma G.E.D**
Ability to resolve problems efficiently
Knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations
Communication and leadership skills
Good under pressure
Able to work flexible shifts including evenings, nights, holidays and weekends
Able to legally work in Canada
